Course Overview Principles of programming using Matlab. Syntax topics include data types, loops, control flow, arrays, and functions. Numerical methods covered include matrix operations, Gaussian Elimination, curve fitting, interpolation, numerical differentiation and numerical integration. Application areas in mechanical engineering include finite element analysis, dynamics, computational fluid mechanics, data visualization and image analysis.
Course Goal To learn how to implement numerical methods in Matlab to solve engineering problems.
